Goodbye blog!

So it's been a few months since I posted last, and I think I need to say goodbye to blogger! I am WAY too busy. So I am crossing this off my to do list. It was fun while it lasted! But with 2 VERY busy boys (now that Owen is running) who don't sleep much anymore (Cameron has stopped napping completely), and we are MOVING in 1 month (to a beautiful house in Chanhassen) so we have tons of packing to do, and we are selling our house in St. Louis Park (that we lived in for the last 6 1/2 years) so the house has to be clean and ready for showings (next to impossible!). Right now the boys are playing tag and chasing each other around the house and running around screaming and laughing (and Cameron is completely naked of course). So if you want to see our kids, or new house, or us, you will have to come visit (or Skype)!!! Ok, that was a nice 5 min beak, now back to cleaning up the mess the boys just made, cooking dinner, packing, and everything else that I need to do!

Cam's birthday party

We had so much fun! Of course it was a little chaotic with about 16 kids, but the bulldozer-shaped bouncy house kept them very occupied! That was the hit of the party. The pictures just don't do justice to show how many people and kids were there! Everyone was scattered all over the backyard. At cake time all the kids actually came out of the bouncy house for a few minutes, and then Joe gave them noisemakers and silly glasses for singing time, it was pretty funny. We had pizza, cake, snacks, drinks, opened presents, and just hung out in the backyard. It was mostly neighbors and a few friends that were able to make it. Cam would NOT take a nap that day because he was so excited, so he finally passed out at 3:30 in his chair in his room. I wish I would have got a picture of him when we finally woke him up and he came out of his room at 5pm and a bunch of people were already here! The party ended at 7:30 (2 1/2 hours was plenty long enough!) and it was dark by then, so we got out a few flashlights and continued to jump in the bouncy house in the dark! By then it was just Cam, me, Joe, and our friends Matt and Carey. We made a bonfire and Cam opened the presents that were from us. He got so many nice presents from our neighbors and friends. It was his best birthday party yet! 9It is only letting me post a few pictures at a time, and it won't let me post the video!) I also added a pic of the newly engaged couple Matt and Carey! They have been dating for way too long and finally got engaged a couple weeks ago! Congrats, we are so happy for you!!! (And yes, Matt likes to make funny faces when he is getting his picture taken).

4th of July

We went to the Biller cabin for our annual week vacation. It is the only time all year Joe takes a whole week off of work! Jon, Shelby, and little Lila were also there for part of the time. Joe's parents were also there the whole time. It was fun relaxing (ok, that didn't happen with 2 busy boys), going for pontoon rides around the lake (Cameron's favorite part of the trip by far), swimming, fishing, going on bike rides, eating s'mores, lighting off huge fireworks, skinny dipping (the kids, not us) , and getting lots of mosquito bites! Of course Joe took over 200 pictures so it is impossible to pick all the good ones.
Yes, I am 3 months behind on blogging! I need to keep these blogs short from now on because I just don't have time to do this anymore! Tomorrow is Cameron's 3rd birthday (we are going to dinner and then Toys R Us), and Saturday we are having a big birthday party here, so more pics to come!

Busy Summer!

Ok, it's been 3 months since my last post! So it's obviously been a busy summer for us. Our first summer with 2 kids was jam packed but lots of fun, so I don't even know where to start. I will stick with the main stuff because I don't have time to cover it all!

We had family pictures taken, Cameron learned how to ride a 2 wheeler bike (no training wheels!), and Owen learned how to walk. Those pictures and videos are all on Facebook if you want to see. Even in the past 2 weeks since I posted those videos, Cam's bike riding and Owen's walking have both taken off like crazy! Cam rides his bike completely on his own, and Owen walks everywhere! He still falls down a lot, but he now prefers walking over crawling. I was not expecting either of these things to happen so soon. Cam has been completely potty trained for a few months and hasn't had an accident in a long time. Even when we go to the store or class he wears underwear and does great!

Owen turned 10 months a few days ago. I have had to trim his hair a few times already it is grown so fast! He has his 9 month check up soon (I know, it is impossible to get an appointment at our clinic so we are way overdue). He is starting to copy us when we do things like shake our head, or wave, or say "dada". He is such a happy baby.

Cam turns 3 in 9 days! We are having a birthday party in a couple weeks and getting a bouncy house in the backyard and inviting our friends and all the neighborhood kids, so it should be a blast - his first real birthday party with friends! He is so cute, he LOVES playing with the neighborhood kids (most of them are older than him, but a few are around his age), so he made lots of friends over the summer. He is so smart and funny and says the craziest things!

Ok, going to put Cameron to bed, will post pics tomorrow...

Big boys!

Ok, I just am so proud of my boys I had to write about it! In the last week Cameron has become potty trained! He just started doing it on his own one day, and has been going ever since! Ok, so I bribed him a little with chocolate chips, but whatever works, right? And of course I had to let him do it all on his own, because anything I tell him to do lately he does the complete opposite. So I made it seem like it was all his idea, ha ha! And the trick was to have him naked from the waist down at all time when we are inside or in the backyard. If we go in the front we put on elastic waist shorts to easy access. And no pull ups - it only took a few accidents until he realized he didn't like to be wet. And outside we have a "pee rock" in back so we don't have to worry about running inside. But now he wants nothing to do with the big boy underwear, he just wants to be naked all the time!

And, Owen is crawling! And he got a tooth! I guess that explains why he was waking up so much last week. And he pulled himself up to stand today at the coffee table! And he can get into a sit up position all on his own! So yesterday I lowered the crib mattress to as low as it can go. Here is a pic of him when he was crawling in the grass in the backyard - I put him on a blanket, and he saw his little baby pool and crawled over to it and started splashing like crazy! As you can see he likes water and likes to be wet.

We love going to Lake Calhoun in the summer and playing at the playground and beach and walking around the lake. Cam loves the slide! I had to include my Supermom picture - pushing the baby while carrying Cam on my shoulders. Cam was tired of walking. It was a good workout I guess!

Tomorrow we are leaving for a week vacation at the Biller's cabin. It is our one family vacation of the year (our last vacation was last 4th of July), so LOTS of pics to come!

Owen 6 month Update

Well, Owen is almost 1 week away from being 7 months old already! We had his 6 month check up on Friday (he was more like 6 1/2 months), and he is still a big boy! He weighs 18lb 7oz (75%), 29 inches long (97%) and head circumference 18 inches (97%). So Sarah, you were right, he does have a big head. I think someday in the near future he is going to be bigger than Cameron, and in the far off future he is going to be bigger than Joe (and way bigger than me). Shots went well and he is a healthy boy.
He is very happy and content, and loves watching Cameron. He is rolling like crazy, and starting to scoot forward. He is saying "dada" a lot, but it is hard to tell if he is talking about Joe or just babbling. I think he might be getting teeth because he was up a few times the other night. Lately he has been waking up 1-2 times a night, and he wants to eat a little before he goes back to sleep (he sleeps from 8pm-7am). He takes 3 naps and is a good sleeper during the day, now if only he would sleep through the night! At least Cameron sleeps 11 hours straight so that helps.
He is ticklish and has the cutest laugh. I think he might crawl soon since he is scooting and he gets up on his elbows and knees. He is eating baby food and cereal, and about 6 weeks ago he went to all formula, so no more breastfeeding!
I could go on forever, but on another note, Cameron went in the potty twice today - woo hoo!

J, S, A & A Visit!

Joe's brother Jamie, his wife Sarah, and their 2 adorable kids Austin (4 1/2) and Alana (2) came to visit. It was Joe's 30th birthday that weekend, but we didn't really get any good pictures of that! It was so much fun having them all here, and the kids had a blast. We spent a lot of time outside in the backyard since it was so nice out, and we got a big blow up pool and a slip-n-slide which got a lot of use (even though the hose water was freezing cold)! We visited the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden. I wish we could see them more often, but they live in Florida. Austin and Cameron had so much fun playing together. Oh, and we have started to have some luck potty training. Outside we have designated a "pee rock" and he is actually using it. When we are inside he uses the potty chair about once a day. I am not pushing the potty training yet, but he is just doing it on his own right now.
